While our local community, country and the world are experiencing unprecedented times, we are here – UNITED – to support our community and improve lives.

Trident United Way is continuing a long tradition of leading the effort when disaster strikes by announcing a special fund to help those negatively impacted by the COVID-19 virus. Trident United Way has set aside $50,000 in emergency funds to match dollar-for-dollar any public donations up to $50,000.Trident United Way will underwrite all costs associated with dispersing 100% of the funds directly to COVID-19 response and relief efforts. In the unlikely case all funds are not spent, remaining funds will be set aside in a reserve fund for use during future response efforts.

YOUR DOLLARS WILL IMPROVE LIVES

Tri-County COVID-19 Response Fund contributions will be used for:

•Supporting basic needs to address loss of work or other financial hardships
•Deploying efficient emergency networks of agencies with proven on the ground experience
•Supporting nonprofit partners with the surge of assistance requests and supplement service capacity

Thanks to generous donors, the first round of agency awards from the Tri-County COVID-19 Response Fund have helped 4,377 families with food, housing, utility assistance and basic needs. With the rest of the funds raised so far, we estimate that we can provide similar supports to another 4,335 families. That's a total of 8,712 families helped with the fund so far! THANK YOU!

However, we have received over $500,000 in requests from agencies, meaning there are about another 4,446 families whose needs we will not be able to meet without additional funding.

Trident United Way is uniquely positioned to handle this large-scale effort, as it has a long history of leading special funds for past disasters like hurricanes and floods. The Post and Courier and Trident United Way have partnered on several prior relief efforts. All funds will stay in the Tri-County.

Thank you for making an above-and-beyond gift. Our Tri-County is more resilient when we’re working together to improves the lives of all our neighbors.
